Sea to Shining Sea

My friend Kristine just took a phenomenal journey cross country on a bicycle. It took her two months starting late March. I saw her last night and she looks toned and tan. She said it was really a fantastic experience--sometimes frightening along narrow roads with big tractor trailers whizzing by. She started in San Diego, went through New Mexico and Texas, along the Gulf and then to Florida. It was a planned journey with 16 other bicyclists. She said the maps were "empowering" considering she could have gotten lost at any time (and she said she got turned around a couple of times). In any case, one amazing trip.

Angel, I have known Kristine since I was four. We grew up in the same neighborhood in Gary (Miller Beach). Her bike trip was truly amazing, especially since I was the athletic one and she was the reader. She was always reading those Nancy Drew books! Thanks for posting the pics-so glad she made it home safely.

Even though the expression is way over used - AWESOME sums up her trip pretty well, I think. Wow, 3200 miles on a bike is fantastic!! Nothing like a long, strenuous bike ride to soothe your soul. Congratulations, Kris
