Mr. Sulu and Asians & Friends

George Takei, "Mr. Sulu" from Star Trek, is going to be Grand Marshal at this year's Gay Pride Parade here in Chicago. Mr. Takei came out a few months ago and made a few headlines. Well, the gay, social group I'm in called Asians & Friends e-mailed him and said we wanted to welcome him to the city with a reception. We didn't hear for a while and then lo' and behold, last Tuesday, his people said "Yes, he would be happy to drop in." Well surprise, surprise. So we quickly put a reception together for this Saturday, June 24 , here in Chicago at the High Risk Gallery. It'll be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 1113 W. Belmont. It's free, so we hope people come. It'll be a Trekkie blast!
