High Jinks in Chicago

Here's more photos from my cousins' trip this past weekend to Chicago. I've got Iza and Julien in the tour boat on the Chicago River (Sears Tower in the background), me and Iza at the Bob Newhart statue in front of Navy Pier, a grumpy Julien (and Iza) at Billy Goat's Tavern (no fries, chips) and then Jenny, V.J., Iza and Julien at the top of the Handcock tower. Wish you were here!

Cousins In From San Fran

My wonderful cousins flew in from San Francisco to see me in Urinetown this weekend (which went well by the way for our opening shows). They actually came for a 5-K run charity event held at Montrose Harbor, so I was a bonus. They loved the show.

Here we are at Cafe Iberico having tapas!

Saw Her Standing There

My friend Ruben got a guitar for Christmas three years ago and with the encouragement of his brother-in-law, learned how to play. Well, the other night, he got a few of his friends and family together to do a Beatles sing-along. Here's a few flower children getting our grove on.

Remembering the Alamo This Time

Another conference (the second this year) brought me back to San Antonio. But this time, I was able to drop by the Alamo to take a few shots of the historic fort and the area around it. I also got some video of the famed Riverwalk. For anyone who doesn't know about the Riverwalk, it's kind of like Venice, but in Texas.
The reception that first night of the conference was held in the patio area right on the Riverwalk--it was a real treat.

Gay Beach Blanket Bingo this Sat. (4/12)

Just thought I'd mention this Saturday (4/12) our Asians and Friends group is having a gay Beach Blanket Bingo night at the Joel Hall Dance Center, 1511 W. Berwyn in Chicago. It's BYOB from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. $10 for the first three bingo cards. We'll have a hula-hoop dance off, a "Mr. Diamond Head" competition and a faux photo set of a beach scene where a professional photographer will be taking people's photos. Fun in the "sun." See you there!

Urinetown, the Poster

We're just about four weeks out before Urinetown opens, and I'm just getting to that place where I'm starting to remember what I'm supposed to say, sing and dance in any given scene. I'm really trying hard to get to where it just flows, so I can focus on the execution and being in the moment. It's really an exciting and ambitious effort.
