Post-Mass Lunch for Uncle Del

I flew to Los Angeles last week to attend my Uncle Del's funeral mass. It was a sad occasion, but I was able to see a lot of L.A. relatives who I haven't seen in a while. Here's everyone.

(Left to right) My brother Glenn, my cousin's husband James, my brother George, and cousins, Ron, Lupe, Russell and Minnie.

Auntie Josie, Uncle Emond, Auntie Aida and Auntie Ellie.

(Left to right) Auntie Ami, Uncle Fred, cousin Celia and her husband, Jim.

More cousins.

L.A. cousins, aunts and uncles.

My Dearest Jorge

To my dearest friend, Jorge. You're so close to my heart and will always be ... May you dance with the angels.
For those who want to take part in his life celebration, it's tomorrow (Thurs., Oct. 18) at St. Ita's Church at Broadway and Catalpa in Chicago. 6 p.m.

Viva Las Vegas 2012!

I was in Vegas last week for a convenience-store convention and got to see a couple of celebrities! Sheryl Crow played for the Anheuser-Busch party at the Hard Rock Hotel, while former Gov. Howard Dean sparred with Sen. Rick Santorum during a mock debate. Tons of stuff to do at the trade show floor too. And we stayed at the Mandarin Oriental, next to these two cool buildings on The Strip!
