My Birthday Celebration! (& Jen & Joe Show)
Had such a wonderful time at my birthday party last Saturday. It was a fundraiser for School Street Arts Movement and AIDS awareness with two vocalists, Jen and Joe performing. I dressed up in my nun outfit to promote "It's a Wonderful, Nunderful Xmas" and Bob was kind enough to put my age on the birthday cake. (tee hee)

Birthday Party Tomorrow! (11/20)
I'm having a birthday party tomorrow (Sat. 11/20) and I'm combining it with a fundraiser that our not-for-profit AIDS-awareness group is hosting. The event is the Jen and Joe Show, which we produced last year (photos below). Jen and Joe are good friends who do two sets of quirky, funny and insightful songs, with Joe playing guitar and then keyboards.
It's at The Call bar, 1547 W. Bryn Mawr, Chicago. People will start arriving at 9 p.m. but the show is at 9:30. Tickets are $10 presale/$15 at the door. There will be drink tickets with my face on the bills for bar money. And I may do an interpretive dance at 11 p.m. Who knows? Hope to see you there.

Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame Induction
Asians and Friends Chicago was inducted into the city's Gay and Lesbian Hall of Fame last night. Here we are accepting the award from Mayor Richard M. Daley. Bob and I met Rahm Emanuel and I got to sit right behind former Sen. Carol Moseley Braun. (Bob asked Rahm if he was going to be the one giving the awards next year, and he said "If you let me.")
Then we went up to the 80th floor of the Aon Tower for a wonderful reception in the Mid America Club and got the royal tour of their new, chic lounge and private dining rooms. Ended up at the newly opened "Downtown" bar which was formerly the Gentry. Couldn't have had a better night.
