Goodbye Sen. Kennedy, Hello Dead Pool!

In the wake of Ted Kennedy’s passing, I scored a point in our office's Dead Pool. As far as my colleagues go, Abbie is now on the board, and Heather, me and Greg each have accrued another point. Here are the standings:

My Cat Gelsey

Each morning when I get up to check my e-mails, my cat Gelsey comes up for some attention. The other three cats are pretty dominant and she tends to catch me when everyone else is sleeping. The other morning I "flashed" her a couple of times with the camera. Good morning!

Horsing Around

This week I went under the big top at Jackson and Racine to watch the Cirque Du Soleil type horse show called, "Cavalia." Stunning. Watching the horses galloping, their hair flowing and then trotting in a row of eight. It was really fantastic. Here are some pics of me and Peter and his friend Douglas.

Beer Pairings

At the foodservice conference I was at this week, one of the events was a "beer pairing" where an announcer talked about the kinds of foods that go best with certain kinds of beers. Of course it was all about that sponsor's product, but what was funny was how he would say how good a certain beer went with pizza or hot dogs--and people would clap in agreement. Who knew beer went so well with hot dogs? A revelation!

Weekend in Saugatuck

This past weekend was just a blast at the Mardi Gras celebration over at Campit Resort in Saugatuck. Though the weather started out rainy and some folks even had their tents flooded, it broke and for most of Saturday and all of Sunday, the weather was perfect. I didn't have my camera for the golf cart parade (where they decorate the carts like Mardi Gras floats), I got some shots of the guys and a few pool pics. Whee!
